Our Story

Hummus, Falafel, Chicken Shawarma & Gyro

We care about what we consume which has led us to care even more about what we serve. Freshness is our key ingredient, the highest quality of vegetables and beans is all we know. All of our sides are Vegetarian and almost all are Vegan. The Gyro & Chicken Shawarma meat is all-natural with no hormones added; also Halal. Lastly, the Falafel is made fresh daily from scratch using Grandpa’s 50+ year recipe and spices.

The Spark

Yafa Hummus opened in September 2017, a concept that was thought out for nearly a year. Two brothers and a cousin have put their Grandpa’s Hummus and Falafel recipes into use. Daring to explore different avenues, they have created a new style of Mediterranean infused Greek restaurant making it a perfect fast causal lunch & dinner hotspot.

Our Story

In 1951, our grandfather, Afeef Awad, traveled to the city of Yafa which is located on the east coast of the Mediterranean Sea.

While he was in Yafa, he learned how to make Hummus and made his first batch that started our restaurant’s devotion for hummus.

A few years later, he moved to Amman, Jordan, and opened up his own restaurant to give people the taste of his delicious, handcrafted hummus. Throughout the years as a restaurant owner and hummus enthusiast, he perfected his recipe to produce World Class Hummus, which made its’ way all the way to California. Our passion is hummus and our ultimate goal is for our customers to enjoy the best hummus period.
